Child & Family Developmental Consultation

Support for Families & Caregivers

Personalized developmental consultation and coaching for families of autistic and neurodivergent children, children with developmental differences, and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of their child’s needs. A diagnosis is not required.

What is Child & Family Developmental Consultation?

Understanding your child’s development, behavior, and relationships

Child & Family Developmental Consultation is the heart of my private practice: a one-on-one partnership with the adults in a child's life to understand what's happening developmentally and find a way forward that fits your child, your values, and your daily routines.

Sessions are flexible and shaped around what will be most useful. We might work together with your child present, meet virtually for caregiver-only conversation, or review short videos of everyday interactions and reflect on what we're seeing. Often, those small moments are where the biggest "aha"s live.

The goal is understanding first, then practical support that fits your actual child and family.

Consultation can
help with

  • Making sense of behaviors that feel confusing, big, or stuck

  • Sensory processing, regulation, and meltdowns

  • Communication, engagement, and social-emotional development

  • Play and building connection through your child's interests

  • Daily routines, including mealtimes, sleep, and transitions

  • Infant and toddler concerns, including soothing, feeding, attachment, and early connection

  • Understanding autism, neurodivergence, or other developmental differences, with or without a formal diagnosis

  • Preparing for school meetings and IEPs, including attending alongside you when helpful

  • Parenting values, hard moments, and big decisions

BEYOND OUR SESSIONS

Practical support you can use in everyday life

I create individualized materials based on our work together, which may include written summaries, developmental recommendations, visual supports, and practical resources. The goal is to give you something useful to return to and build on between sessions.

For families who want more structured autism support through play, I also offer PLAY Project® Consultation, an evidence-based caregiver coaching model.

Questions about consultation

What families often want to know

Let's talk about what you're noticing.

You don't need to know exactly what kind of support you need before reaching out. Tell me a little about your child, what's been feeling hard or unclear, and what you're hoping to better understand.

We'll talk about whether Child & Family Developmental Consultation, PLAY Project® Consultation, or another path makes the most sense.
